Great Sebirs in history

Here is a selection of Sebirs that have changed the course of history. In them, innovators were able to 'mentally associate' two previously unrelated experiences to breed something new and ultimately indispensable. Although the Sebirs below are famous, you will see from the way they are described that they came about with ridiculous ease.

In each case, someone noticed a particular capability in action and, by thinking about what was occurring more broadly, was able to breed from it to create something new and valuable that employed the same generalised capability in a completely different setting.
